Later that night both birds are very tired and both go to sleep to rest for the next day. But there are always dangerous predators lurking around at night in the forest. Slowly and steadily, in the still of the night with the moon as the only light reflected source a fierce wild cat approaches their tree. without a sound it climbs the tree with it's sharp claws and carefully walks towards father bird and mother bird's nest.
Father bird is awaken by the ere scrape of the cat's claws on the tree. He alerts mother bird with a sharp peck on her back. She is woken up immediately and defends her egg. Meanwhile father bird had flown away to put up a fight with the wild cat that is quite hungry for a meal.
The angry wild cat growled at father bird and strikingly began to attack him. Father bird with his powerful beak and sharp claws also began to fight for dear life. There was feathers flying everywhere and father bird was loosing energy to fight. But he finally put all the energy he had left and managed to poke the wild cat in the eye with his sharp beak. At last, the cat roared in agony and scampered away as fast as possible. But father bird who was laying at the trunk of their home tree, had not seemed to be moving. Mother bird swooped down as fast as she could to father bird and wanted to help him. But she has noticed that his wing was damaged and that he was in a lot of pain. So she caringly decided to sleep next to father bird for the fallowing few hours left of the night.
In the morning mother had woken up to a start, she had just remembered that she had left her egg in their nest up in the tree. She was devastated and flew up to reunite with her egg. When she had sat on her egg she had realized that the egg had gotten really cold. She was shocked, she was scared for both her egg and father bird. What will she do? All of a sudden she had an idea. She thought that she could rebuild a new nest on the ground because it is much to heavy to carry their real nest down. That way she would be close to her egg and also close to father bird. A week later father bird had recovered because of of mother bird's caring instincts.
Many days had passed and mother bird knew that it was getting close to the day that she would have to see her egg hatch into a baby chick. Well that day was today. She had been woken up by little chirping noises that the egg was making. She jumped of the egg and called father bird to come and see. Suddenly there was a loud cracking noise which caught mother bird's attention again. Before her eyes, out of the blue egg came a baby bird. Mother bird was so joyous to see her baby bird. That's just when father bird flew in and saw that his baby bird had come out of its shell. They both snuggled up with their baby bird and mother bird began to feed him. These two magnificent love birds have something more to share with the world and themselves today.

Level 4-
Be glad that Kelly isn't marking it! Not focusing on spelling/grammar - focusing on ORGANIZATION - your ideas are in a logical order and the transitions from one idea to the next and fairly smooth - big improvement this year, Stef!
